Buffet Clarinet week
– La Vilavella – Spain – July 15th to 21th, 2024–
Andreas Sunden was born in 1976 in Åmål, Sweden. He started his clarinet studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Hans Christian Braein as his teacher. He graduated in 2001 with very good grades. He then studied for two years as a soloist with Hans Deinzer in Italy and since 2003 he has been studying regularly with Yehuda Gilad, USC.
He has won several scholarships from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and has been a Haverhill Sinfonia Soloist (2004) and Ljunggrenska laureate in Göteborg (2001). Andreas Sunden has been a soloist with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian National Opera Orchestra, Musica Vitae, the Swedish Army Youth Music Section. He is active in chamber music and is the initiator of the Nordic Chamber Soloists, a leading chamber music ensemble.
Andreas has performed at the Risør Chamber Music Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Gloppen Music Festival, as well as in the Nordic countries, Germany, England, Italy, Spain and the USA. He has given masterclasses in the USA, Korea, Spain, Italy and the Nordic countries.
Before taking up the position of Solo Clarinet in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Andreas Sunden played in the same position in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, the Norwegian National Opera Orchestra and the Malmö Philharmonic Orchestra in Sweden.
